Jerv was in a difficult situation fighting to avoid relegation to the third division of Norway. The team lacked enough quality in attack to create chances and score goals.
Task from the client
Jerv wanted a forward-winger profile to attack depth, win duels and score. They could afford free transfer with a limited salary budget. At the same time, the new player must have had resale potential.
PASS Scouting contribution
We analyzed over 100 players. The process required patience and consistency, as we had to work within a small budget while aiming for a high level of quality. We finally focused on Diabaté. Despite his poor European stats, we saw his real talent. By connecting Jerv with his representatives and club, we completed the transfer.
Result
Diabaté joined Jerv for free and quickly made an impact, though the club was still relegated. His strong performances led to a €100 000 sale within Norway, and Bassekou became one of the second division's top attackers.
